What we handle

The accident and injury cases we take on

Whatever happened, the questions are the same. Who pays the medical bills, how do you cover the bills that do not stop, and when does life go back to normal. Start here.

Car accidents

Rear-end, T-bone, side-swipe and hit and run collisions across Hillsborough and Pinellas.

Truck accidents

Commercial carriers, their insurers and their rapid response teams are on the scene within hours.

Motorcycle accidents

Riders get blamed by default. We deal with the assumption before it reaches an adjuster.

Uber and Lyft accidents

Rideshare claims turn on which policy was live at the moment of the crash.

Slip and fall

Wet floors, broken walkways and the surveillance footage that gets overwritten in days.

Premises liability

Injuries caused by a property owner who knew about a hazard and left it there.

Brain and spinal injury

Catastrophic injuries where the cost of care runs for decades, not months.

Wrongful death

For families who should not have to argue with an insurer while they are grieving.

The insurer is already working on your claim

An adjuster is assigned within hours of an accident being reported. Their job is to close your file for as little as the facts will allow, and most of what decides that number happens in the first few days, while you are still working out how badly you are hurt.

1

Do not give a recorded statement yet

You are not required to give one to the insurer on the other side, and nobody there will tell you that. It gets taken while you are sore, rattled and guessing at answers, then quoted back to you months later as though you were certain.

2

Get looked at, even if you feel fine

Soft tissue and head injuries surface days later, once the adrenaline has gone. A gap between the injury and your first medical visit is the single most common reason a real injury gets valued as a minor one.

3

Do not accept the first number

An early offer arrives before anyone knows what your treatment will cost, which is exactly why it arrives early. Sign it and the claim is closed, whatever your recovery turns out to need.

4

Keep everything, and write it down

Photographs, the crash report, names, bills, mileage to appointments and the days you could not work. The claim is built out of the record you keep in the first month.

What meant the most to me was how much they genuinely cared. When I had surgery that was not even related to my case, they took the time to call and check on me. That level of kindness showed me that I was more than just another client.

Danica and Matt were so patient and explained everything every step of the way. Anytime I had questions, they were there with the answers. I truly appreciate their help throughout the entire process and would recommend them to anyone who has been in an accident.

At first I did not know if I had chosen the best injury attorney for my case, but in the end it was obvious that I did. Trevor Colvin handled my case with professionalism and diligence.

Who you will be working with

The injury attorneys who will actually handle your case

A claim here does not get one busy lawyer. It gets lawyers, paralegals, investigators and, where the case needs them, expert witnesses. These are the people clients name by first name in the reviews above.

About the firm

Decades of experience representing Florida families

Winters and Yonker has grown into one of the most recognized personal injury firms in Tampa Bay, with five offices across the region. Our practice covers car crashes, premises liability and truck accidents, and we know the risk injury victims face when an insurer decides not to pay fairly.

Nicknamed the aggressive attorneys, our trial-ready team has recovered millions for clients who were left with mounting bills and an uncertain future. That reputation is the reason insurers take our files seriously from day one.

There is no fee unless we win, and the first conversation costs you nothing at all.

Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Submitting a form does not create an attorney-client relationship.
